MANK: The Set Photos
Project Overview:
Mank is a 2020 American biographical drama film about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his development of the screenplay for the 1941 film Citizen Kane. It was directed by David Fincher and distributed by Netflix.
Scope:
The book was designed for the production team. The internal pages include behind the scenes photography.
My Role:
I created the concept and layout of the cover. The photography is by Gisele Schmidt.
Process:
The cover is an homage to the Spanish theatrical poster for Citizen Kane. I modernized the poster by using Gary Oldman’s silhouette and created a replica of the block text in Adobe Illustrator.
